Terms and Conditions

Stats SA provides scientific knowledge that allows society to understand complex socio-economic phenomena. Its mandate is based on the Statistics Law of 1999 (Law No. 6 of 1999).

 

Stats SA strives to excel in the following five competitions:

 

● Intellectual capacity to direct scientific work in statistics.

● Technological competence for large-scale processing and for complex calculations and accessibility of information to the public.
● Logistics competence for the logistics deployment (direct and reverse) of large-scale field operations and for strategic decisions regarding operational efficiency and profitability.
● Political competence to understand the political environment without being political or politicized (commitment to surrender without fear of favors)
● Administrative competence: the ability to put everything in its place.

 

Required documents:

 

● A recent and complete CV, specifying all qualifications and experience, with the respective dates and copies of qualifications, identification documents, and driver’s license (if applicable) must be uploaded to the system.

● It is not necessary to certify these copies when applying for a position.

● Only candidates shortlisted for a position will be required to present certified documents on or before the interview date after the HR communication.

 

NB: Applicants run the risk of being disqualified if they have not submitted all the required documents as stated above.

•If you have not heard from us within three months of the closing date, please consider that your request was not successful.

● Correspondence will only be sent to shortlisted candidates.

● Statistics South Africa reserves the right not to make an appointment.

● Appointment. subject to security clearance, signing of an agreement or performance plan, verification of candidate documents and reference verification

 

Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

•It is the candidate’s responsibility that foreign qualifications are evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).

•Shortlisted candidates must be willing to undergo a skills test exercise as part of the selection process.
